There’s nothing that can match the feeling of first driving your new Porsche car off the lot of Porsche Silver Spring. If you want your Porsche to continue to perform the same way it did when you first obtained it, getting regular maintenance is essential.
When the mechanics at our Porsche service center talk about routine maintenance, we are referring to specific types of service that we perform in the short and long term.
Short-Term Checkups
For proper vehicle maintenance, we’ll inspect the following items in the short term:
- Oil: Every six months or so, we’ll check and change your car’s oil. Fresh oil keeps the engine running smoothly and efficiently. We’ll also change out the oil filter.
- Filters: Your car utilizes different filters that require periodic replacement. For example, the engine’s air filter is what regulates the air that flows into the engine and helps keep out debris and particulates. By ensuring your air filter is functioning properly, you can improve fuel efficiency, decrease emissions, and help prolong the life of your vehicle. We will also inspect the cabin air filter.
- Tires: When maintaining your Porsche tires, we’ll check the tread depth and the tire pressure. This will happen every time you bring your car in for semiannual service. We offer tire rotations, balances, air pressure adjustment, and wheel alignment.
- Lights: Your car’s headlights, turn signals, brakes, and parking lights all need to be functioning properly to keep you and others safe.
Long-Term Checkups
- Transmission Fluid: Transmission fluid is a lubricant that helps to keep the moving parts inside the transmission functioning properly. It should be changed according to your owner’s manual.
- Shocks and Struts: The shocks and struts in your suspension should be checked by our professionals every 50,000 miles or so. Remember that we use OEM Porsche parts when performing repairs.
