The 2021 Porsche Taycan is at Porsche Silver Spring, and it is turning heads. What makes it a worthy addition to the current Porsche lineup? Find out why this electric vehicle is trending and receiving a lot of fervor.

Technology

For the 2021 model, the automaker has recalibrated the charging system for improved battery longevity and speedier charging. On the infotainment front, there is a head-up display with SiriusXM® satellite radio and updated software that enables purchases without having to visit the dealership directly. The infotainment system consists of a curved 16.8-inch display for the gauges.

A separate 10.9-inch screen is also available for the front-seat passenger, as is a 5.9-inch screen for the rear-seat passengers that enables control of the AC and heating. Driver assistance technology like lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning also come standard in all Porsche Taycan trims.

Performance

What sets the 2021 Porsche Taycan apart from other electric vehicles is its two-speed transmission. Almost every other electric vehicle on the market as of 2021 utilizes a single-speed direct drive. The addition of a two-speed gearbox provides enhanced acceleration and cruising at high speeds.

You can expect 227 miles on a full charge – an estimate confirmed by the EPA. This is with the addition of the optional Performance Battery Plus that includes a 93.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion pouch battery.
